Research Centre for Cellular Mechanisms of Disease
The Cellular Mechanisms of Disease Research Centre investigates the molecular, cellular, and genetic processes that drive human disease. Through interdisciplinary and translational research, we generate new insights that support the development of improved diagnostics, treatments, and precision medicine approaches.
Understanding Disease. Driving Discovery. Improving Health.
The Cellular Mechanisms of Disease Research Centre is dedicated to advancing understanding of the fundamental biological processes that drive human disease. Through interdisciplinary research, innovation, and collaboration, we seek to uncover the molecular and cellular mechanisms underpinning disease onset, progression, and response to treatment.
Our mission is to translate scientific discoveries into meaningful improvements in diagnosis, prevention, and therapeutic intervention, ultimately enhancing human health and wellbeing.
Centre Co-Director Dr Ferran Valderrama and Dr Aurora Campagna, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, talk about how they are creating a new diagnostic tool to transform prostate cancer diagnosis through more accurate detection, and help guide better-informed treatment decisions.
