Quantum Physics and Computing — MDPI Subject Workshop
Date: Tuesday, 20 October 2026
Venue: Hyatt Regency Manchester, 55 Booth Street West, Manchester, M15 6PQ
Organiser: MDPI UK
The Quantum Science & Technology Research Group at City St George's will be represented at the MDPI Subject Workshop on Quantum Physics and Computing, chaired by Professor Andreas Fring.
The workshop brings together researchers from quantum physics and computing to explore recent developments and emerging connections between the two fields. Topics include quantum algorithms, quantum simulation, quantum information, quantum hardware, many-body systems and fundamental aspects of quantum theory.
Dr Jack Araz, from the Quantum Science & Technology Research Group at City St George's, will present a talk entitled "Leveraging Quantum Hardware for Fundamental Physics".
Other invited speakers include Jean-Patrick Connerade (Imperial College London), Tapio Ala-Nissila (Aalto University and Loughborough University), Michael Spannowsky (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) and Almut Beige (University of Leeds).
The meeting aims to encourage interdisciplinary discussions and strengthen connections between researchers working on theoretical foundations and practical applications of quantum technologies.
Attendance is free, but registration is required.
