Co-Design
PEGASUS will co-design a programme to support people with severe mental illness to improve their cardio-metabolic health. If you are interested in participating you can contact us on the details below. You can download a flyer talking about the opportunity. We will post updates on this page about the co-design process and opportunities.

It can be difficult to make changes to improve your physical health, and we know it’s even harder if you live with severe mental illness (SMI - conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar and experiences of psychosis) and have physical health worries (worries about weight gain, blood pressure, heart disease, etc.).
What’s the project?
Researchers from City University are working with 5 NHS Trusts, people with lived experience, and local community organisations to design a programme to improve physical health for people with severe mental illness. We want your experience to help design a peer-led support group for people to improve physical health. We really want to hear perspectives from diverse cultural communities and especially welcome interest from people who identify as belonging to racialised groups.
What’s involved?
If you have personal experience of severe mental illness and have concerns about your physical health, then please get in touch to find out if you could join one of our design groups. You will be involved in 4 half-day workshops working with clinicians, peer workers, healthcare management staff and service users to design a health programme. You will be paid at £25/hour for your time.
How can I get in touch?
If you are interested and would like an informal chat, please email the PEGASUS Team.
